Creme De Le Creme

Ever since I traveled to France as an exchange student during a summer in high school, I've been fairly obsessed with French-anything.

DIY New Years Accessory: The Headpiece

Monday, December 30, 2013

I'm excited for New Years Eve tomorrow, and am finally getting to putting together a look. I've been sick and just not too excited. But, the show must go on. I want to share a DIY project I came up with for New Years last year. This one stays relevant, and is a cool, abnormal add on for New Years Eve.

The Materials
Pliers
Jewelry Findings, including a 1 hole-to-3-hole bead (available at all bead and craft stores, or...)
These from Etsy should work great:

Measure from the end of your part on your forehead, to the back of your crown. Cut one piece of chain to fit that length.

Measure the circumference of your head, at the level where you would like for your headpiece to sit. Cut a piece of chain to fit that length, and attach as shown.

Cut two 2.5" pieces of chain, and attach to create a floating effect.

What to Wear: DIY Flannel Patchwork Denim (As Seen on The Style Line)

Tuesday, December 24, 2013

Inspired by Junya Watanabe AW13 Collection

The Materials
Boyfriend Jeans (I got mine at Gap), Flannel Scraps, Fabric Glue, Scissor, Needle & Thread (if you'd like to further seal)

Cut scraps into random rectangles and squares

Lay the cut pieces onto denim, and arrange as you like

With a foam paint brush, cover the back of each patch in glue, lay onto the denim and press down. Make sure all corners are secure.

What to Wear: The Weekender

Friday, December 20, 2013

Excited for a weekend full of indulgence. With Aire Ancient Baths on the schedule for this evening (don't worry, I'll report back!), Big Fish on Broadway tomorrow night, and Sunday with my adorable little nephew, I'm planning ahead for what's to come. Super excited. Have a great weekend!

What to Wear: Apres Ski, Part 1

Thursday, December 19, 2013

I'm excited. It's officially ski season, and we all know that the most fun part of this exciting, adventurous, sporty activity...is getting drinks at the mountain bar immediately following a freezing cold day of falling in the powdery snow. Here I've rounded up some quick picks in anticipation of snow bunny socialization.

Note: The best option is to both glue and sew, but do whatever feels best based on your comfort level.

What in Karl's Name is Going on in Dallas???

Wednesday, December 11, 2013

This ... is... so... weird. But I like it. I mean, leave it to Karl and Chanel to invite fashion's elite to Dallas, and showcase a completely out-of-nowhere, native american-inspired, totally unattainable, unwearable collection. BUT, it's art. Karl is an artist and I think this is a prime example of how he works. "Oh...you think I make quilted leather bags and rain boots with pretty rubber flowers on them? Nope!" The Dallas showcase is unexpected, enjoyable to look at, and even though not quite wearable, it's a beautiful, totally complete collection.
