What to Wear: The Weekender

Friday, December 13, 2013

One of my favorite parts about the weekend (other than sneaker Saturday which I am skipping this week), is being able to repeat the same pair of jeans without worrying about co-worker judgement. This weekend I'm test driving a new pair of patchwork jeans from Zara. Figured I'd outline the looks ahead of time - planning ahead is the best. Cheers to the weekend.

What in Karl's Name is Going on in Dallas???

Wednesday, December 11, 2013

This ... is... so... weird. But I like it. I mean, leave it to Karl and Chanel to invite fashion's elite to Dallas, and showcase a completely out-of-nowhere, native american-inspired, totally unattainable, unwearable collection. BUT, it's art. Karl is an artist and I think this is a prime example of how he works. "Oh...you think I make quilted leather bags and rain boots with pretty rubber flowers on them? Nope!" The Dallas showcase is unexpected, enjoyable to look at, and even though not quite wearable, it's a beautiful, totally complete collection.

A Very Neon Holiday

Off to the Etsy Holiday party this evening...one of my favorite nights of the year. Figured this is an appropriate look for some late night bowling with my most creative friends...

Alleluh for "Alleluh"

Wednesday, December 4, 2013

I'm excited to share new tracks from my favorite band in the entire world. Everyone I've ever taken to see The Woes play live have admittedly never forgetten the experience.

Four years in the making, "Alleluh" captures an uplifing energy and spirit I've experienced in no other band. With a sound along the lines of Tom Waits, Captain Beefheart, Count Basie, The Pogues, Blue Grass, Folk, New Orleans, Gospel, Punk and Soul, The Woes create a genre that keeps your feet stomping and your heart melting.

Produced by the one and only Jesse Lauter (mastermind behind the sounds of artists such as Elvis Perkins, Langhorne Slim, Pete Fracis of Dispatch, and more), "Alleluh" draws you into the awe of Osei Essed's unearthly voice, majestic songwriting, and the band's unique and energetic musicianship.

In the meantime, sample a listen, download the album, listen again, and again, and again.
